Each team chooses a challenge from a provided set. These are interesting little tasks that don't require prior preparation. For example:
- Code reviews — Learn how other developers build stuff by looking through popular open source apps and packages.
- Framework comparison — Combine your team's experience to compare the strengths and weaknesses of CSS preprocessor, MVC framework, and so on.
- UX problems — Invent a better design solution through front end technology.
- Grokking hacks — You don't have to be John Carmack to appreciate this. Work as a team to figure out and elaborate on clever snippets of code.
- et cetera
The aim is for everyone on the team to collaborate, discover code together, learn to be a better coder, and get to know each other.
The arguments round is capped at 1 hour. Tackle as few or as many topics as your team is able to.
The outcome is a TL;DR of the challenge(s) discussed.
